Re: Road Racing

i still say they should add mid ohio or the indy road course. while i could list of reasons... the main one is just because they are close and i could go see them (not to mention id rather have another road course than a oval, unless they bring back the rock.)

Re: Road Racing

yep its pretty sad. nascar keeps pissing off all the die hard fans in an effort to make it more popular to the masses. i think its going to backfire eventually.

Definitely Indy!! I'm watching the Speed-On-Demand US Grand Prix of F1, at Indy road course and it's astounding.

Re: Road Racing

I dunno, the Indy track seems to have some pretty tight turns for a bulky stock car.

And Stang I couldn't agree with you anymore that not only are they catering to the masses to get fatter wallets, they are also severing ties off the roots of where everything got started by taking away the tracks that have character of their own, and turning away the fans that got them started in the first place.

Re: Road Racing

Yeah, they definitely need to find more road courses, but they need wider ones with lots of passing zones. A fat stock car is difficult to pass with around Watkins Glen. The road course at Daytona or Indy would be pretty good for them, though, I think. Run two races at Daytona, but make one of them a road race. Then they could pass around the banked turns, and Boris and Scott could still make the passes in the Esses. Plus they'd have the pits and the garages in the old familiar places.
