1994 xle front right wheel

I usually keep 32psi in my tires, The other day I put 35 psi to see if it felt better, I was on my way home and I accelerated up a hill at about 40mph and the right front wheel started bouncing and also my steering wheel began bouncing badly.. I pulled off the road and it bounced until I came to a stop, I then took off again slowly and at about 35 it did it again so I stopped. I took off again and did 20mph the rest of the way home it was ok. When I got home I reduced tire pressure back to 32psi and took it for a drive and it was ok no more bouncing. Could I have an underlying problem with my front end and maybe with less pressure the tires absorb more and when hard the underlying problem absorbs it. Possibly something with a strut??? Any help will be great.

Sounds like you have a bad strut. I would replace both the front struts as soon as possible.

Have a shop check your front end suspension components as well.

That is what I thought, I forgot to mention that recently I noticed a light clunck right front when I hit a hard bump at low speed or when I pull out of my driveway, there is a little bump like dip where driveway meets street and when wheel hits this it cluncks lightly.

Re: 1994 xle front right wheel

My problem was not a strut not yet anyway, It was the right side lower control arm bushing, it was gone. Upon further inspection my mechanic also found these problems.

So here is what I just replaced.

All Control arm bushings, Front motor mount , the Tbone motor mount Bushing , Both outer CV boots.

This cost me almost $400 Is this price fair?

I'm so glad I bought this car I paid $2000 for it with 160000 miles. The only other work I have done besides routine fluid changes is replacement of front rotors because they were warped. The car now has over 240000 miles and still runs looks and drives as good as a new one.

In two weeKs I will have the timingbelt replaced and she is ready for another 240000 more miles.

Sounds about right to me for that much work.
