Howling or Humming front end noise
the mighty D strikes again... 2001 5.9L 4wd slt makes a humming or howling noise (sounds like left front). Wheel bearing??? advice appreciated.
If it is a wheel bearing - has anyone had any luck re-packing them? I suspect the ansawer is NO since almost all newer vhehicles used sealed units.

Also need a bearing, have u priced them.I changed a couple on my cars and they were a hub and bearing assembly which I think durango is the same, dont think you can repaCK

Make sure to check the ball joints while your in there....

I just had mine done on my 02 Durango yesterday, I was going to do it myself but the hub was stuck on there pretty good. If you live near anywhere that might make the hub rust than expect it to be a PITA.
Most likley you will need a puller also.
