PICS of speaker pod and hatch area!

Hey all, just started working on my "interior beutification" project... Here's some pics of the start of my fiberglass speaker pod and some pics of the start of the floor for the back-seat/hatch area...

Picture of the sub-pod pieces after being cut from 3/4" MDF... The "peanut" shape will be the base of the pod:

Pictures of the pieces being test-fit together. You can see the general shape of the pod taking place:

Pics of the pieces glued together from different angles:

Next step is to stretch the fleece and add resin. Then I'll re-inforce the inside with fiberglass matting, and reinforce the outside with fiberglass cloth, then sand/bondo. Then it'll be painted yellow to match the interior trim pieces. The subs (two 10" Kicker solobaric S10's) will be mounted inverted with the magnets outside the box...

Pictures of the hatch-are floor that I made. There is alot of clearance room underneath the rim/tire, and that's where I'm mounting my battery and 1 farad cap... Still in the process of making a template for another "floor" section where the back-seats used to be... that will be where the sub-pod will be mounted...

Hope you like. I'll post more pics as I progress...

I hope I'll be there on the 14th... problem is, I want my girlfriend to come with me, but she has zero interest in my car (or anyone elses for that matter), so I know she won't have much fun if she does go (which means no fun for me either). If she stays home, then I'll probably end up feeling guilty for going without her...

I'm going to do my best though... :sun:

Dont let her lay a guilt trip on you. Tell her this shit is important to you and if she expresses interest in coming, then let her and dont worry about it, and if she doesent wanna, dont trip about her staying home.

In order to get the shape of the trunk, I bought a bunch of foam-board (It's like poster-board, but with a foam core, can be found at most craft-stores). Then, I kinda roughed out the basic shape and cut the foam-board pieces to match, then test-fitted and trimmed and test-fitted and trimmed, etc. Finally got the foam-board to match up, glued all the foam-board pieces together, and traced the outline to the MDF. Then just hacked away at it with my skill saw. The MDF fit almost perfectly the first time, just had to trim it up a little bit. Now, I'm trying to do the same thing for the back-seat area.

The floor will later be covered with grey vinyl.

Damn dood that's going to look tight.

It's about time I do sumthing like that. I have this sweet looking interior and a mess in the hatch of all my freekin audio equipment.

Oh i also blew my head unit. Does anyone have one to sell for cheap? I'm sick of having my treble cutting in and out.
The deck has to have a dedicated RCA sub output. Sounds much better that way
