Ducati 916 Senna

I'm building a Ducati 916 Senna 1995 version, using the Tamiya kit and Dexter Models Upgrade kit.(Front Brakes and Decals)

The body, frame and whels have been painted with the correct Ducati Paints colours.
The seat is covered with MFH material and the CF is SM 1020 which seems the nicest IMO.
All panel pins have been drilled out ready to accept MFH Rivets.
Thanks for looking

Great start on a lovely bike! Your CF work is amazing as always! How was the seat material to work with?

It was easy, I just made a masking tape template, cut it out and stuck on, it's very thin so it wraps around nice.

Owzer! Very nice!

I like your "flower arrangement" for drying parts

if you need refrence pics just drop me a PM, i have one of these sitting in the garage. (not the Senna version, the standard one. although i believe other than bodywork and brakes they're essentially the same.)

Re: Ducati 916 Senna

Steve,
I think the material you used for the seat has nothing to do with the real thing, it is just too furry.

Other than that, this level of paint and CF job is something I can only dream of...

Re: Ducati 916 Senna

Hey Steve, I am into same kit, but have not considered the c/f. Well now you got my juices going, so will have a go as well. Finished all bodywork and seat/tank, looks nice.
Your radiator and lower panels look great, did you use SMS decals as well ?

Rod.

Thumbs up Looking great and an inspiration...

I'm not really a motorcycle builder, but the Ducati 916 has always intrigued me. I started one in the standard factory street livery in the Tamiya kit and was going with Italian Red.

Then I saw at Detail and Design in Scale, the Dexter Senna transkits and had to get one. I got the 1996 Dexter Senna kit.

I just stripped the old paint on the Tamiya Ducati 916 (of course I had it painted before deciding to change directions). Also have the MFH Rivets and material as well as some Renaissance fasteners.

I've got the Acustion chain link set but am not sure I want to go that far with this. Anyone try the Acustion set?

This is a real insipiration and just excellent work.

Gerry
