TV Picture issues, intermittent open and picture dosen't work.

Ok, so our old TV has been dropped once awhile ago while moving furniture around in the house (it is probably 11 years old, JVC 27") and the picture has gone the way of the ghost.

The problem, the picture condenses to a single flat line across the center of the screen due to an intermittent open/short, you use to be able to turn it on or off and occasionally that would fix it for awhile, or you could hit the top/back of the TV and that would fix it, it kept taking more and more violent hits to get the picture back to normal, then finally it just gave up and was a constant flatline.

The TV has been replaced with a new TV and I was just wanting to see if I could fix this and use it in my dorm room due to the fact that it is a pretty decent TV (when it works) and would be a huge improvement over a junky 19" TV.

So the condensed version is that there is an intermittent short/open in our TV (CRT) and I am interested in seeing if it can be fixed and would like input from knowledgble people in regards to possible fixes to the problem.

Thanks for any help!

-Ryan

Re: TV Picture issues, intermittent open and picture dosen't work.

You should have asked this over in the Computer/Electronics forum. I had a question about my tv last month, posted it there and received many great responses, and my problem was solved with their help.
