93 Ford Ranger Fuel Sending Unit

I have a 93 ford Ranger 2.3 liter 5 speed manual tranny. the fuel sending unit has gone crazy, reading various stages from 1/4 tank to Full and all in between. I replaced the sending unit and it worked for a couple of weeks and then started doing the same as the old one did. My question is there somthing else that I'm missing or did I just get a faulty sending unit. thanks

Re: 93 Ford Ranger Fuel Sending Unit

Have you noticed any random fluctuations on any other gauges? If so, may be the IVR (instrument voltage regulator) .... if your model has one ... ??? .... usually mounted on instrument panel circuit board.

No all other gauges operate as expected, no fluctuations
