slooooooow window

Anything I can do about my little engine that could passenger window? It literally takes about 30-45 seconds to go up, over a full minute to go up when the car isn't running. The Driver's side isn't fast, but not that terribly slow n annoying....

Thanks,
Tim

HA! I am in the same boat as you, I also have a 93 Camaro Z28 and my windows go really slow too...

well actually my passenger side window goes up extremely slow... and my drivers side window only goes up if I hold the button down and pull up on the window.

Re: slooooooow window

Mine is not that slow. You might just need a new motor. The windows on our cars are heavy and the motors wear out. But I am no mechanic so I dont know...

Re: slooooooow window

Yeah if it goes sooo terribly slow, its your motor showing signs of getting old. I know that my driver side window goes 1/3 times quicker than the one on my passenger side and thats because I replaced it.

Re: slooooooow window

If you don't want to buy a new motor you might try drilling a very small hole in the gear unit for the window motor. Then spray a little lubricant in there. Sometimes this works very well, almost like a new window motor.

+1 its hit or miss if it works. If it works you saved money if not you gotta buy a window motor anyway.

Re: slooooooow window

Spray silicone spray or some other lubricant in your windows tracks and anywhere else that your side glass may cause drag. This will take some of the load off of your motor and should speed things up.

Re: slooooooow window

i hear u guys on this window stuff.im a little meaner than u tho.im not ready to blame the heavy windows.im blaming the general cuz my truck windows arent nearly as heavy and theyre still kinda slow.the passenger side is definitely way slower, especially if the trucks not running.i think they used el cheapo parts myself
