Re: headlights
You won't get good light output with projectors unless you install an HID kit with it. Use Mother's polish or buy some Diamond Clear headlights.

Re: headlights
Just did it with a $20.00 kit Canadian. You will get four peices of sand paper, follow instuctions. Then I used a drlll with a buffer and course, "the red speedy rub". My sons lenses were totally yellow and scored, now they are like my 2005.
Good luck Wayne |

I didn't say it would be worth it, but if you want the true quality of the projectors then an HID kit should be installed along with them.

Re: headlights
I tried a clearcoat on a older plastic lens and it actually spotted the lems. So I don't know if it is compatable with plastic. I also use a silverstar High out put bulb and they are really great, but your lenses still shoukd be cleaned. Better to share your thoughts than to see someone spend money they don't have.
Best of luck Wayne |

Re: headlights
PERMATEX sells a kit, but you can do it yourself a lot cheaper ( still wiil not compete with HID or Projector lenses, but a lot less expensive).
1. Buy one sheet each of wet/dry (the black stuff) sand paper in grits of 800,1000,1500,2000,2500. 2. Buy a bottle of MEGUIRES Plastic Polish (auto parts store). 3.Half fill a bucket with water and put the sandpaper in the bucket. 4. Use a sponge to really wet the lenses and then with the sand parer really soaked good go to work. 5. Start with the 800 grit paper and hand sand horizontally (keep washing the lens with water as you go and also keep the sand paper wet). Once the discoloration starts to disappear, switch to the 1000 grit, and keep on going until you are at the 2500 grit which is just to smooth the lenses. 6. Dry the lens and start hand buffing the lens with the plastic polish (any direction). Let the polish dry to a haze and remove with a clean cloth and see how she looks (more light snading or more polish may be required). I did this on my 1996 Caravan and 1998 Neon and the lenses really shine, the secret is to not use too much pressure when sanding and that is why I do not reccomend a power buffer. |
