What performance cars to buy

I have just completed a building that holds 6 cars--and retired-i now have $1million to invest--i am looking for what cars i could buy that would appreciate the most over the next 6 years?plus,they have to be fun to drive.i plan on putting minimum milage on them.have been thinking of buying the new 07 shelby and just store it-is this a good idea?what other cars should i invest in?

No, i wouldnt invest JUST in one type of car, but the older C1 (1953-1962) Vettes are very desirable if in Very good condition. Just do some searches, and you'll see that they really are a nice investment. Also, about the new shelby you want. it probably will take A LOT longer than 6 years for it to appreciate in value of any kind (but is still one nice car).

Classic Mustangs have been an EXTREMELY good investment lately. Some have tripled in price in the last 6 years. These cars would be any Shelby, Boss 429 and 302. The R coded(428CJ shaker) cars are also rising in value. I do not think that these would be good to invest in now though as they have already skyrocketed. For a long-term investment I think I would invest in a 2000 Cobra R Mustang. Very limited production and bound to be a collector. I also think that the 2003-2004 Mustang Cobras will be collectors one day due to their highly desirable status. 2002 TA's and SS's wouldn't be bad either but there are quite a few people already collecting these. I wouldn't look at anything too old as they have usually already risen in price. I believe that the older 1st gen Corvettes have already hit their peak and are no longer a good investment. You want to follow the rule of 7's and 2's. This means that and extremely good investment should double in value in a 7 year time period. I would start to look at rare/collectible cars from the 70's. The market seems to be moving through the generations and is currently stuck in the late 60's so getting a jump on the desirable 70's cars might be a good move. As to color and options, you'll have to research each model to see what is most desirable. A good general rule is to get a red, big block with a 4 speed. Popular option packages are also a key ingredient. This means: Shelby, GT, SVT, SS, WS6, Trans-Am, anything HEMI, etc... Hopefully this helps. Could go on forever.

any of the classic big block american muscle cars with all the goodies, chevelle ss, camaro ss, superbirds, yenkos anything with an original hemi etc etc...it really comes down to personal choice. if its an investment...you should check out the barret jackson auctions on cable...i think on the speed network. also theres an apraise my car show on a high definition channel. it covers a full range of imports and american classics. ive learned a lot about re-sale value from watching those shows. but all in all its personal attraction...my personal top 6
