Odometer and Speedometer Problem
Hey everyone, I'm new to the site and I was hoping someone could give me some advice for my 1991 Cavalier. When I drove my car in the morning everything was working fine, when I left work that afternoon my speedometer and odometer weren't working. Is it possible that a wire came disconnected? (I did hit those speed bumbs pretty fast this morning.) How do I check? Any advice would help, I just don't have any time to see a mechanic this week and I definately don't have the money for a speeding ticket this month. Thanks for your help.

Re: Odometer and Speedometer Problem
check your ABS sensors near the wheels, but first off if your check your fuses. A blown fuse will cause your gauge cluster to act all wacked.

Re: Odometer and Speedometer Problem
I'm not great with cars
(I know this is stupid) how do I check the fuses? Should they be under the dash? Above the peddles? Thanks for the help.

Re: Odometer and Speedometer Problem
i'm not sure in a 2nd generation, but they should be like right when you open your driver door, there should be a fuse panel..unless it's somewhere else. I don't know, my friend has a ranger and he hit a raccoon like a week ago and his odometer and speedometer havn't worked since..

Re: Odometer and Speedometer Problem
If you have the manual for the car look in there and it will list where each fuse is listed and which each fuse is for. Find the fuse that is for gauges and pull it out. If the metal inside the fuse is broke or it looks burnt then its blown and you need to replace it.
