Climate control for 1997 Limited Lesabre
I have eliminated the climate control unit as the problem. I sent it away to be repaired, and it is fully functional. But my dilemma remains. Middle setting, vents across the dash, do not function. I spoke to an expert and he told me that the vacuum line may be worn out and suggested that I use a quick fix from a wd-40 can extension to fix it. The only problem is that when I look behind the glovebox, I can't locate the vacuum lines as he described. He said that they have different colors, but the only different colored lines that I can find are very small in diameter and I am not sure if they are electrical? Where are they???

For the rest of it http://www.imcool.com/articles/airco...programmer.jpg There are the lines you had to remove to send the programmer out. If you have vacuum try switching modes and feeling the vacuum motors above the accelerator pedal with the motor running. One of these is the vacuum motor that closes off the defroster ducting and forces that air to come out the dash vents for air condition. If you need, I can check a service manual for the colors. |

i had the same problem... it turned out that the vacum line above my enjine was dryrotted. it is connected to the cruse control module, and also connects into the top of your enjine.

Your vacuum tank on the firewall where all of the lines connect could be the problem as well

To see the Y connector you may have to take offr the cover for the Maxifuse relay. Just plastic clips hold it in place. |
