Re: 94 toyota audio system help!!
Check your fuses first. Go here to download the manual for fuse locations...

The unit works great. For the PDF file you posted, for 1987 and newer, looks to me like the column headings are reversed. The column on the right labeled "Typical New Radio Equivalent Wire Color" is actually the guide to the existing Toyota wire colors. For example "A" , the gray wire, for Toyota, is the Right Front Speaker Positive. "B" for Toyota, is White - the Left Front Speaker Positive. My diagram had slightly different wording for the power wires. Red is 12 volts Switched Power, Yellow is 12 volts constant power. Also, Blue from Toyota is power antenna, and it should join H and I in the new connector. On my new connector, there was already a wire loop connecting those pins and a single blue wire coming out to connect to the Blue Toyota power antenna wire. J, marked "do not use" on your diagram is marked "Orange/ White - Dimmer" on my diagram, and there was a connection for it on the new wiring harness. As far as I can tell, this wire operates the illumination for the new stereo unit. There's a note that says "If your receiver does not have a dimmer or illumination wire, tape off the Orange/White wire. Black is called "chassis ground" essentially the same as yours. My new radio also had the wire functions listed on a label/sticker on the bottom of the new unit. If yours has one of those, I would go by that and use the functions listed in the Right column of your PDF file as a guide. For example, the "Green" wire should be "Left Rear Speaker Positive" _not_ "Right Front Speaker Positive" and "White" goes to Left Front Speaker Positive, _not_ right rear speaker negative. |

Re: 94 toyota audio system help!!
I guess its a little late, but there's 2 possible fuses. 15 Amp "Cig/Radio" fuse, which I believe is located behind the coin cup under neath to the left of the steering wheel. The other is the 20 Amp "Dome" fuse, its located in the fuse box inside the engine compartment. If you can't figure out which, let me know, I'll go into more detail about what will and won't work depending on the fuse.
