Valve Cover Oil Leak?
I'm looking into getting a VTEC Prelude and I found one with 69k miles I'd like to get but it seems to have an oil leak coming from the lower left part of the valve cover. Could it just be as simple as replacing the valve cover gasket or worse? Could someone give me the worst possibe case and the price it would take to repair it?
Thanks, William T. Thompson |

probably just the gasket. since there is oil under the valve cover all the time, its no big deal.

sounds to me like the vtec solenoid is leaking. it is a common occurence with any vtec motor. if it is not a lot of oil, then there is no problem. just clean the motor every once in a while and check th oil level. if it looks to be nothing related to the solenoid, then make sure there is not a lot of oil leaking, so you dont have a drop in pressure, or the risk of running low while driving.

Just check the gasket if it looks fine just get some goop (Honda (blue) gasket sealer) and goop it up!
goop around cam seals yada yada... Good luck www.velocitytrends.com
