Replacing a fender?

Would this be a DIY job? I had a pallet on the side of my house, with the car parked next to it. We're getting some pretty bad winds from Ernesto, so you can guess what happened The fender took it right on and is pretty messed up.

I have a compressor and have done some DIY painting before, so getting the part and painting it is no problem...just have no experience doing an install with a fender

Thanks!
Mike

Re: Replacing a fender?

Replacing a fender is not hard. You just have to unbolt the fender and replace. You will need to start at the bottom under the corner of the door, then remove the bolts along the top of the fender. There is one located behind the side marker light so you will need to remove that as well. Once everything is unbolted remove the old fender. Refit the new fender before doing anything else. Make sure it fits properly, to do that bolt it up like the old one and then check the fit, lines and etc. If everything is OK then remove and paint. Reinstall the fender after paint and you are done.
