91' deville pulleys...
ok so i was driving to orlando the other day and my steering was very tight..i pulled over to get power steering fluid and i pop the hood...power steering is full...look over and boom serpentine belt is off...and i look down and below the power steering pulley is a pulley..i dont know which pulley it is...i think it is either the crankshaft pulley or the a/c pulley either way the pulley is like loose...you can pretty much pull it out but it doesnt come out all the way. any suggestions on what i need to do?
thanks i found a picture of the model ![]() well to my knowledge it is the water pump pulley...correct me if im wrong Last edited by freeballer16; 09-02-2006 at 05:06 PM. |

Re: 91' deville pulleys...
As you surmised, it is the water pump pulley. Is the pulley just loose on the flange or is the whole shaft moving? If it is the shaft then the water pump is a goner.

Re: 91' deville pulleys...
You have to replace the water pump. I'm betting that the bearing has pretty much self-destructed. The seal will follow shortly.
The replacement procedure is well covered in the Chilton manual for you car. |
