K&N air filter/air intake

Ok i was just wondering if i just put a cone K&N air filter on my stock S tube n remove the air box will that work just as good as getting a air intake
and also i seen on the internet to remove a peice out of the intake called the tuner tube has any1 else done this

^Just buy the whole intake if you want one. It may have close to the same effect as a RAI but nothing close to a true CAI.

is there a cheap CAI i can get cuz at the moment im kinda low on funds, but i still want to start getting into performance parts for my cavy

ebay.... only buy an intake off ebay if its Injen, AEM, induction dynamics or K&N, everything else is junk if it isn't brand name

ebay is great for warm air intakes, but you're not gonna find a true cold air intake anywhere if you're trying to go cheap
