95 5.0 dies on cold throttle blip, throttle sticks at highway speed
I have an essentially stock '95 5.0. Only under-hood mod is a K&N filter.
The car starts pretty well regardless of temperature. On cool mornings (i.e., 45-50 degrees F), I'll back out of my space, shift into first, and touch the throttle. Engine often dies. It will continue to do this for several stops until it warms up. I have to feather the gas to take off. At times the throttle will then become stuck anywhere between 1100 and 1900 RPM as I'm driving. For example, I'll come off the highway in high gear, braking normally. When I engage the clutch, the motor will rev back up to 1900 and stay there. I can feel it pulling me down the highway without me giving it gas. Sometimes. Check engine light has come on occasionally when this occurs. It doesn't stay on for long. Theories? Throttle position sensor? |
