2004 chevy silverado 1500
when truck in motion sometimes oil gage shut off and sometimes rmp gage also shut off too. after few minutes if I start truck againg gages work fine. any ideas what to look for...?

Often, with intermittent electrical problems, it's a bad ground.
Not always but seems to be a bad ground more than anything. Either peek at a schematic to locate all grounds (those whacky Brits call a ground "earth") or poke around and find as many as you can visually. Clean them up with a wire brush. Look for corrosion, it can be hidden inside the insulation especially next to where the ground meets the frame. Sometimes a wire can rub against an object causing a short, sometime an intermittent short. Electrical problems are such a pain!!!!!

When the tachometer and pressure gauge stop indicating, does the engine run normally? If so, I would suspect the problem is at the I/P cluster connectors. You'd have to remove the bezel and I/P to inspect and clean the connectors.
