Welcome on your first post on AF.
The more info on it you can give would help.
Year engine and what transmission and mileage and service history?

But I would suggest you clear the code and see if it returns first thing.
Is the transmission acting up or what is it doing or not doing?
Has it ever been serviced?
The code points to a transmission problem that could branch out several ways.
Could be wiring or pcm or sensor or switch.
Unless you have the proper test equipment and repair info it would be better to let the dealer or a good repair shop check it out.
Here is a good repair info link if you want to look into it.

Look for a cry five star dealer.
Tip on going to the dealer
Ask that only a factory certified gasoline engine and transmission performance specialist work on your car.
Not all dealerships are concerned with how repairs are dispatched, and not all dealership techs bother to take advantage of the training offered by dealer the vast majority of which is paid training). If the dealer is uncooperative, ask for your money back and call around for a dealer that will accommodate you.

Re: Code help p1734

2000 durango 4.7 litre engine around 83000 miles. It sometimes feels like the truck is going to shut off when coming to a stop. Advanced auto cleared the code on 8-28-06 and it has not returned as of yet. i bought the truck in 2004 the trans has not been serviced. Oiled has been changed every 3000 to 4000 miles and there is a little sludge under the cap, should i be worried about that.

If the code was cleared and has not came back I see no problem on that end.
But may be time for a good tune up and check over and transmission service.
Be sure to use the good mopar transmission fluid and other good mopar tune up parts.

It is trying to tell you something like get it in and get it checked out.
I would say it is time to get things checked out.
Remember proper testing first thing.
