Re: 1997 ford thunderbird

Get a can of silicone spray, lower the window and then spray into the window channel. Raising and lowering the window a few times after you spray should distribute the silicone. You may have to spray a few times. Try this first before you go through the trouble of removing the door panel.

To each his own. I've never had a problem with it.

Re: 1997 ford thunderbird

Start by checking if the fans are running properly. Then check both the top and bottom radiator hoses are hot indicating flow thru the radiator.
You could have a blown head gasket as the gages show normal temp. I would go to a radiator shop and get a gas analysis before you damage the engine.

thanks for info, i drove up to store this am and heat gauge when mid way etc. and then it went back down a bit then went up to half way...when go to store checked under hood hose out of radiatior was hot, did not check bottom as could not get hand down there plus was at store seemed fine and perhaps did not drive it long enough to see if it was still going to be a problem...could this be some thermostat issue? thanks

Re: 1997 ford thunderbird

It could be thats why you need to feel the top and bottom hose. A closed thermostat or a plugged radiator can cause this or a collapsed hose.

If the car is up to operating temperature they both should be hot to the touch.
