Ford Zakspeed Capri Gr5

Hi everyone. My name is Ian and I've been browsing this forum for a while, but this is my first completed thread. It's the Tamiya Zakspeed Capri in D&W livery, built mainly OOB with minor touches here and there. The Cartograf decals were pretty tricky as they did not seem to respond to Microsol very well - simply bedding a decal into a panel line required maybe 20+ applications of solution and plenty of patience! As a result there are quite a few wrinkles which are not obvious from the pics but are there nonetheless. Otherwise there were no major problems. Oh, and don't worry about the Dunlop logos on the tires... I'll paint them when I get some yellow paint

Onto the pics! (Sorry if they are a little big...)

And finally a couple with my JGTC (Super GT) builds...

Thanks for looking!
Ian

Re: Ford Zakspeed Capri Gr5

Despite your concerns it looks pretty good to me. I have this one in my stash - I recall building the original release many years ago - it's just a great looking car.
You appear to have a nice collection coming along there too. Nice job.

What a splendid modelkit!

I think everybody who builds that kit just want results similar to you, so you did an awesome job!

Wow, that Capri is a good looking model. I think you did a great job with it. The striking livery is excellent and a very nice clean build.

Nice built!..This is one of the best looking racing cars ever. Specially in this D&W livery. Built one myself too:

Re: Ford Zakspeed Capri Gr5

Bas your build is stunning! I like all the detail painting you've done, and the addition of seatbelts. By the way, is this a different kit? My Tamiya kit didn't seem to have the Ford logos on the C-pillars...

Thanks everyone for their kind comments!

I certainly hope this won't be your last!

Looks great! And your concerns about the decals don't seem visible on the photos.

Like probably most people, I have this kit in my stash (also the S27 P/E set) but I don't think I'll ever actually get round to building it

Rickard, I can't express how inspiring your build and Kurtl's was! I don't think I will ever reach such a high level!

Cheers Ian
