Working hydraulics
Does anyone know a place that will show me how to put working hydraulics in my cars? The specific cars would be an Integra Type R (Revell), and 70 Chevelle 1:24 (Revell)

Have a search for lowrider model sites. There seem to be quite a few and i'm sure they have details on how to do it.
Also 'Hoppin Hydros' do a kit you can add to your models.

Thanks Fly but I was hoping for a how to about making my own. Now that I have seen that site I may order a set of hydraulics but will wait until I have seen how hard it is to install them. If anyone has any how-tos on hydraulics please post. Thanks

I've had a few concepts concerning hydraulics/airbag suspension.
1. Use 2 straws. One of them being SLIGHTLY thinner than the other so you can insert it in the larger one. This will create a telescopic object, and you can close off the ends with a small drop of glue from a hot glue gun. Next get some small hoses, and then hook the hose into the larger straw, and then the other end connecting to a "hot wheels pump" (small pump device that you would mount a car to, push the pump forcing air into the car shooting it forward). Mount this airbag/hydraulic device where the spring/shock would go in the model. If all goes well it could work... I have made an extremely crude picture below:

If you just want to make your car go front to back, it's actually quite easy. All you need is some wire, aluminum tubing, string, and motors. Below is a simple diagram showing how everything is put together. This is the setup I've used in a couple of my cars and it works pretty well. If you want 3 wheel action, the easiest way IMO would be to buy the kit from Hoppin Hydros (the one that uses the "T" sliders).

LoL. Yeah I realized I could've made it neater after finishing it.. I'll try to fix up the pic tonight, and hopefully think up some more concepts tonight.

haha. that was pretty funny. That diagram did suck ass thought, no offense. But i understand the concept, but you think straws will really hold up after a while? how about a stronger pump of some sort and like, piping. that might last longer.......

If you could somehow get custom molded 'mini rubber bags', then you could use those with a very small compressor or pump and have the whole airbag suspension setup.

My friend in TX that has a 63' impala that has actual hydraulics that he made using 4 small syringes, brake fluid, small hard rubber tubing, and metal tubing with the plastic ink reserviors form pens..... I'll try and upload the progress pics he took if he sends them to me and the issue of Lowrider Bicycle that his car was featured in.....
