Re: Help!!

Who hooked the amp up to your car?. There is suppose to be a remote wire from the radio or antenna or any radio being turned on signal that tells the amp to turn on , like a internal relay. So either the amp is malfuctioning , you have a short in the wiring and there is always power being run to the remote wire or someone did a hack job with the wiring,.

Re: Help!!

FormulaLT1 is right but didn't really answer your question. If you don't want to rewire or don't know how, you could put a switch on the wire from the battery to shut off the amp when the car isn't running. I would recommend rewiring because I believe in fixing things right(I think Formula LT1 would agree) but if you are looking for an easy way out...

, You noticed that too? . Anyway, the reason why I didn't answer the question was due to the fact until we know the nature of the original install, It could be a faulty unit or could be a wiring issue like you concluded (I agree, this is the way more likely cause) but if it is a faulty amp unit rewiring the whole system up again just to have the same issue or if a professional installed it who he can bring it back to. Its kinda a waste attempting to rewire everything but I do agree if you're going to put in the time and money for any project don't half ass it and do it the right way.

Re: Help!!

I would have to agree with the problem being the remote wire being hooked up to a constant 12v power source. That would be the first thing I would look at.
