front bumper replacement

i was driving my friends olds intrigue the other day and one of her dogs hops into my lap in the absolute wrong spot as we were coming to a stop light. my foot slips off the brake and i idle into the back of a truck. i hit his trailer hitch ball and now there is a small trailer ball sized hole in my friends bumper. nothing else screwed up. so i want to get her a new bumper but i don't want to pay the upteen amounts for a new one so i thought i would get one from a junkyard or maybe see if it can be fixed. does anyone know what year and model bumpers will fit her car so that i'm not just looking for a 2000 intrigue front bumper? or know where i can get one really cheap? thanks.

Re: front bumper replacement

Hi
Rockauto.com has "bumper covers" for the 2000 between $65 - $140 plus shipping. Of course it will need painting and installation.

Re: front bumper replacement

I believe any front bumper from a 98-02 Intrigue should fit, because to the best of my knowledge the body remained the same throughout the entire production span of the car.

Thats not a bad price from RockAuto....you see some on ebay occasionally, and as you said a junkyard would be your only other cheap option...a dealer would...well..it wouldnt be pretty
