04 Trailblazer Driver Door Dead

The driver's door is dead. No Window, pwr door locks, pwr mirror. Checked fuses in engine compartment and under seat, all look OK. Anyone have any ideas?

Drivers door module maybe? Can you control other windows? Will the other doors control their own window?

Check the connector between the hinges in the door-jamb.

Re: 04 Trailblazer Driver Door Dead

I have an 02 Trailblazer and had the same problem. It was the Driver Door Module, i got a new one at a junk yard for around $50. Now it's like new.

Re: 04 Trailblazer Driver Door Dead

Just to add to the other post.... the vehicle's manual says the module is located under the rear driver's side seat. When I go by the manual there is a small fuse (10 amp) that is in the place where the manual says the module should be. Does anyone know what the modual looks like, where it is, and if it can be tested???

Any help is appreciated

Most are a rectangular white plastic box, slightly larger than a deck of cards, and usually fastened to the inner door panel frame behind the upholstered trim panel.

The door modules are located under the dirvers seat on the GMT360's.

Re: 04 Trailblazer Driver Door Dead

Mine is a 2003 trailblazer, I am not familar with a GMT360's. Is that the same as my vehicle??? If it is attached to the inner door panel frame I am guessing that means the post between both doors??? On which side can I find it??

Thanks for the help guys, the dealer told me it was a costly repair to trouble shoot the actual problem and then if it was the driver door module that meant more$$$. If anyone has a picture of what I should be looking for,
that would be great also.

GMT360 is GM's designation for this chassis. The "vortec 4.2L I6" is often referred to as the "atlas" series of engine. There are inline 4, 5 and 6cyl versions of the atlas engine.

Re: 04 Trailblazer Driver Door Dead

The Drivers Door Module (DDM) is easilly located, removed and replaced. The DDM is actually found beneath the window switches in the drivers door. It is removed by using a flat bladed screwdriver and pulling up on the panel that surrounds the window switches. There is a metal door clip on the back and front of the panel. Send me an email and I'll be happy to send you 3 pic's I just took of the assembly, the trim panel and the DDM itself without the trim panel. I've got a 2003 Trailblazer with all the bells/whistles that due to a snow storm, icy roads, open window while backing, (long story) water must have gotten down into the DDM and shorted it out. I just swapped it with my 2007 Trailblazer work truck to verify that was what was wrong, electrically it works, by design the window buttons are different therefore I can't swap trim panels so I'll have to find one at a used auto parts place. Good luck but the good news is that it's about a 3-5 minute repair.
