I don't know if anyone has heard but airfix and heller have closed down!
neither will make kits anymore.

although Airfix is dead, I doubt there tooling is. odds are someone is going to buy them, they won't just destroy them

yes, they've gone bust. lack of money brought the company's downfall. i don't think they were rivalling the quality of the other kits out there, or the selection.

i doubt the tollings will go to waste, i'd imagine they'll be bought by someone else and will get re-used.

i was told by the distributors in Australia not to worry as they will be picked up by someone as Humbrol has just brought out a new line of acrylic paint.
And it was Heller that brought down Arfix a Humbrol.And for selling of the kits i seem to sell more of the small 1/72 kit than any of the other kits in our store even if they are bad molding

I heard on the news today it said that Hornby had saved Airfix by purchasing it today.
