Impreza WRC Spike Version - Open Door

Hey guys. Some photos of a recently completed model by Helen (my GF for those who do not know). Helen has used the transkit from Renaissance. As expected the transkit is magnificent (see below for photos), with the resin parts fitting beautifully and nicely detailed PE parts. Also comes with some nice instructions. There was a small issue with cutting the windows, but it is not too noticeable in the flesh. Doors are actually hinged, and so shut, but I don't have nice photos to show it. All in, I reckon it looks great - hope you agree!

Cheers, Grant

Re: Impreza WRC Spike Version - Open Door

Looks great but it can look so much better with a little extra...
Dont' get me wrong, just trying to give some positive critisism

Put some flat black paint in the exhaust, thin the plastic in that area just a tad, clean the windows a bit, get the seam off the rubber wheels and you ll have a spectacular model!

Oh and you ll get even better pictures if you take them in semi-shadow outside.

Re: Impreza WRC Spike Version - Open Door

Hey Oli, thanks for the advice - positive and constructive criticism is always welcome. How else do you learn and improve? The blackened exhaust tip is an oversight, but easily corrected. Do you know, I had never thought to clean the windows after completing the model? Seems so obvious!

The main reason I have waited so long to post the model is I have been waiting for some nice outdoor shots. Just getting over winter here in Melbourne, and for a while now it seems every weekend has been overcast or rainy. And when it hasn't Helen and I have been more interested in stress testing our new Specialized MTBs

Cheers, Grant.

G-man422: The Renaissance transkits (both for the 2 & 4 dorr Impreza WRC's) cost about £15 - 20. You can get them from places like Media Mix Hobbies or Grand Prix Models (both online). I think it is even possible to order direct from Renaissance now. I would highly recommend both transkits, if only for the photo-etch detail bits.
