'04 Passenger Seatbelt

A friend of mine at my place of work was talking to me today about how her P/S front seat the seatbelt always locks in place once you click it in. It does this without even pulling the belt out all the way and retracting it. As soon as you click it in place to lock it the belt then locks in whatever position it is in tightening as you let it retract. Any one else ever run into this problem. She took it back to a local dealer and they told her this is normal operation of the seatbelt. I checked in my '05 TB as well as my brothers '05 TB and neither one of them do this. The only way they lock is if you fully extend the belt all the way and then retract it as if you were putting a child seat in place. Anyone hear of this?

I had mine replaced on the 2002 TB, there was a recall/tsb for the problem, not normal. This dealer needs to be more careful about their advice! Just check Alldata's recall data bank, there was no recall/tsb listed for this in 2004, but it is not normal and is a common problem.
