Horsepower rating
Perhaps someone can shed some light on the G6 3.5's horsepower specs.
I just bought a 2006 G6 with sedan with the 3.5 engine. I looked at the 2007's but the dealer said that the 06 and 07 were identical and I could get zero percent financing on the 06. Everything I have read says the the 06 has 201 horsepower however Pontiac lists the 07 with the 3.5 as having 224 horsepower. If it is the same car why is the horsepower rating so different? horseshoe

well yea same car and everything, just different HP rating.. went up cause they improved on something... Personally I would of gone with the 07 GTP
 w/ 252HP  but thats just my preference...From what you posted... to me in my opinion the salesman was tryin to make a deal. I wouldnt doubt it if they want to get rid of the 06 from the dealerships to make way for the slightly 'improved' 07. Might just have less bugs/chances of error. Not saying ur purchase was a failure, take what you can afford and what makes ya happy

They improved... the entire engine. They made a brand new 3.5L. The 06 is based off the old school 3.4L, 3.1L and even 2.8L But the new one is... brand new! The power on the Vert is less because of exhaust routing.
Personally I wouldn't get the 07 GTP. 3.6L VVT sounds nice, but I dont like driving test models. I'll take an 07 GT 3.9L 6 Speed F40 trans. (i own an 06 G6 2.4L VVT Ecotec for money reasons)
