92 Amigo Lighter issues

OK I have a friend who has a 92 AMIGO, she told me that her stereo and lighter quit working after trying to use the lighter. Aparrently it worked when she just used the lighter to charge her cell phone. I don't have a book on her car and am not sure if there is another fuse somewhere. She mentioned she checked the one she could get to and it looked fine. Ii am assuming under the dash) Are there any known issues with the lighter in these cars.

I used to own an Amigo many years ago... and just bought another... coming in tomorrow. I saw your post and just wanted to let you know it is an easy fix... just a fuse under the dash. Keep in mind that something blew the fuse so more than likely it is a bad cig lighter... throw it away and get a replacment. You should not have any major problems otherwise.

cell phone charger draws more current than the cigar lighter and usually blows the fuse over time use a slightly larger fuse I belive the one it has is a 10A put a 15A fuse in it if that is the case if it blows again invest in a new charger
