Lower Control Arm Bushing Removal

I was wondering if anyone had any info on how to replace the lower control arm bushings on a 1996 Lincoln Town Car? My are squeaking a little too, sounds like someone is jumping up and down on a old coil mattress. If you have any info please let me know.

Didn't I send you a Service Manual on CD? It's all in there.

I pulled the Control Arms, and Stabilizer Bar sections from the service manual to PDF ready for email is that's all you need right now.
PM me an email to send the PDF's to.

I also sent you a PM re. the software for Ford Service.

Re: Lower Control Bushing Removal

That sqweek is usually the upper or lower bushings. And the upper took a press to replace for me. A good way to find out for sure is to take it for a free estimate at a reputable shop. You might be able to see cracks in the bushing if you look close. if you have a press and the other tools it is no big deal, if not you might be better off to hire out the ball joints and control arm bushings. A buddy did it with out the press and bent the hell out of the ends where he pounded the bushings in place. If you go this route use a socket or two to keep that end from bending.

Re: Lower Control Bushing Removal

You need to be careful pressing these bushings out. The rear control arms are just thin stamped pieces, very easy to bend. If any one needs any. I have a good rear set upper and lowers with good bushings. [email protected]
