i got a 1.8 92 eclipse this guy is selling a 90 laser thats a 2.0 mabe turbo for 500 i would buy it an drive it buy its not a 5 speed an my 1.8 i got now is a 5 speed should i swap the motors an would it fit an wut would i have to do to make it fit?

First off, you need to start using commas and periods cause I have the worst time reading your posts. Second of all, stop making every thread have the same title. Its too damn confusing. You need to give it a title like, Whats involved in the 1.8 - 2.0 conversion. Or something to that effect...

Ok now... Its probably not gonna bolt up to your tranny at all considering its a different sized motor. Heck, I have yet to even see a picture of a 1.8 in a DSM. If your gonna get the motor then you should get the tranny as well so that you know it all fits together properly. Of course this automatic tranny won't go into your car so well since its a 5 speed. So in this case you could get the motor but you will need to find a 1g 5 speed tranny that will bolt up to the 2.0 motor. Then again, the 1.8 tranny might bolt up the the 2.0 tranny. I really don't know the specifics of your current motor.

There was a guy selling a Laser south of Tampa, FL for $500 flat. Thing had like 145k miles and minor body damage in the form of dents and such. I've found Lasers to be cheaper than Talons and Eclipses.

Actually he is right (well not maybe EVERYWHERE) but in the book I got from Buschur, in the history part it said the stopped production because the Laser didn't sell nearly as well as the Eclipse/Talon. I agree, it seems to be a cheaper car and in much less demand than the others, plus it looks uglier.

no the reason there is no more lasers is due to DSM fell apart in 1994 but dodge agreed to still make the talons after the contract was over they stoped making them as well. Over time the plymouth laser will be worth more then any other 1g due to there not being nearly as much of them as the talons and eclipses

Eclipses are almost always more expensive than Talons and Lasers are almost always cheaper than Talons and Eclipses. They will continue to be cheaper because they are ugly (no wing). I dont think DSM fell apart until 99, the laser just never got sold as much.

Back in the day, I'm sure it was all about the marketing. I'm sure Mitsubishi and Eagle did more advertising than Plymouth did. I think if anything, the lasers are the better looking 1g.

Everything you just said was wrong. DSM didn't end until 99. In 1996 it was heard that Chrylser wasn't going to renew the contract after it expired in 99. They stopped making talons in 98 because sales were slow (they only sold 326. They stopped the production of the Laser because it wasn't doing nearly as good as the Eclipse and Talon. The plymouth laser will never be worth more than any 1g, mainly because it is very unappealing compared to the other two. And it's not Dodge that has ties with Mitsubishi, it's Chrysler. Chrysler makes Dodge, get your info straight.

Was the spoiler an option in the 1st gen? I was always under the assumption that only the Talons came with spoilers then I started to spot a couple of 1st gen Eclipses with the spoiler.

by spoiler, do you mean the fin that comes up in the back?

my 1g eclipse and 1g talon both had one. i think the 2.0's only had the spoiler. eclipse was a fwd turbo, and the talon was n/a. one of the ugliest things i ever saw on a car was when someone left that spoiler on and then put a huge ricer spoiler on top of it. ugh
