put in the cap first... this will help us narrow down the possibilities. make sure you charge the cap correctly and install it exactly as the instructions say.

sounds like ur alternator 2 me. it happened to me on my VW. ur car doesn't require much 2 idle but when u step on the gas it pulls more power than ur battery alone can provide. have ur alt tested & i bet u'll find it's bad.

U can go 2 a place like pepboys or a shop that can hook up a meter to ur alt.

All you gotta do to test your alt. is turn the car on, and while it's running, disconnect one of your battery cables. If the car dies (or suffers severe power loss), then it's your alternator. If it doesn't, then there is some other problem...

Hey guys, guess what happened, today my car was smelling like ROTTEN EGG, and i couldnt figure out why untill i opened the engine bay and there was batt acid all over my batt, luckally, nothing got on my BABY (AEM CAI ) Well, so i went to my mechanic, and he tested out the batt and the alt and my alt was charging my batt at 26 volts!!! WTF!!! So i needed a new Alt and now i needed a new batt well, i got the new alt and i put in a Optima Yellow Top because i have a system and the yellow top fits right in! i was scared that it wouldnt fit, but it fit like a charm (w/o battery tray). Well, i'll get some pics up if anyone is interested, but it looks nice, but i should have gotten the red top because the yellow top doesnt look too well in my engine bay with the red valve cover and my red AEM CAI...

Is it worth it getting the Yellow Top? Or should i exchange it for a RED Top?
