EVO - October issue - N884PVW appearance
Hi all
i'm at work at the mo, but i popped into town to get the new EVO as i heard on Pistonheads.com there was an F1 in it. Lo and behold, its only in a write up against the Bug Veyron!!! (as in the tested the f1, then they tested the Bug, not at the same time nor at the same place i believe.....) I'll do the scans later, but the final paragraph reads - 'Progress has bought us faster supercars than the f1. It has also bought us more exploitable supercars than the f1. Thanks to Bugatti we now have a faster and more exploitable supercar in one extraordinary package. Trouble is, compared with the Mclaren the end result is almost entirely passionless. Of course, being hurled down the road by 1000bhp is an extraordinary sensation, but rather like riding a rollercoaster, it requires no skill to experience. You simply strap yourself in, scream a lot, then emerge feeling mildly nauseous. VW climbed an engineering Everest to create the fastest and most usable supercar the world has ever seen. what a shame they never thought to take in the view on the way to the summit.' I believe N884PWV is now owned by Arash Farboud, the young supercar-maker-wannabee..............

Are you sure? Last time i heard it was still with Mr. B and that was only a few months ago. Also, it hasn't been seen on that plate for a while. What makes you think its owned by Mr. Farabound? It was seen at Mr. B's residence multiple times in London a few weeks ago with a different plate.

Re: EVO - October issue - N884PVW appearance
No offense but this blind speculation is exactly why some people are getting a little uptight in here:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=582540 Are you sure the Farabound isn't reviewed in the Evo? I'm fairly certain its still owned by Mr. B |

Arash has expressed, in a magazine article last year IIRC, he wanted an Enzo but Ferrari didnt deem him suitable enough for first-delivery, so he thought stuff em, i'll get a better car and wanted an f1...

I don't ever like being wrong, but as history has shown in this forum, it's bound to happen from time to time. We work with what we have until better info surfaces and that's really all we can do in this game. >8^) ER |

Re: EVO - October issue - N884PVW appearance
Arash does not have a McLaren. He has a Murcielago and recently purchased a Carrera GT. He also has a few other Porsches, but no McLaren F1. Maybe he is friends with the owner, and I know he likes the F1 almost as much as I do, so it's possible he put EVO together with the owner. But more likely, it's just a typo.
Arash's new car's skectches are shown in the same magazine, so most likely that's what he is being thanked for, just in the wrong place. BTW, his new supercar won't have the air scoop on the top, unlike the sketches shown in EVO. At least, I think it's EVO that I saw it in the other day--I didn't buy the mag, just leafed through it at a bookstore. I am talking about the issue where GM talks about motorcycles and how he is glad some GP rider is not switching to F1 racing. |

Re: EVO - October issue - N884PVW appearance
It would appear that they borrowed from their old photos of this car in the CGT comparison article to put this one together. That explains the old license plate.
Thanks for the scans my friend. ![]() >8^) ER |

Re: EVO - October issue - N884PVW appearance
Yup, that's Arash's Carrera GT. I just looked at a picture he sent me when he got it. The plate is actually P5 CHE (there's a space after the 5).
