damnit...

i dont really feel like explaining why, but i hit a curb the other day. my front left wheel at about 20 mph to an almost dead stop, at full lock (the wheel that hit curb was turned inwards). my rim was pretty scorn up but not bent, and my tire had a gaping hole. i have been running on a space saver (just to get me home and to the tire guy) untill today, when i got a new tire. i noticed straight after that my car is dipping to the left. it also doesnt seem to have as much camber (the bottom of the rim doesnt stick out as much as it does on the right rim) but i cant really pass judgement. whats most likely wrong/bent? can it be bended back? is it possible/likely that i just need re allignment? im pretty clueless, and im gonna get it checked out tomorrow. i just want to know what to expect. =*( my poor silvia

Re: damnit...

Need for alignment is never a good thing but for one side, it shouldn't cost much. I don't think you would have messed up the camber. Good luck

Re: damnit...

ok ok i did this like a milion tine on the track and the canyons.

What u want to do first is ckeck for any broken bent parts:

tie rod.
Tie rod end
Tension rod
Control arm
sub frame might be also bent

if you notice nothing wrong with all of the above then measure the distance from the center of the rear wheel to the front wheel
Do that for the other side and compare the result if it doesn’t match. Then u need to go to a good alignment shop to find out if it’s your frame that is bent.

If u were able to get the car aligned after u replaced what you broke do a quick check on the frame.
Drive the car and apply the brakes, notice if the car moves L or R.

if your car moves to either side when breaking after u got you got an alignment, then your frame is bent.

I have some spare parts I can mail them to u (tein tension rod, tie rod, and tie rod end)
PM if u want them
Good luck bro

Re: damnit...

I did this to my 89 bonne and mess up a lot of things, but that's because it was FWD. :P

But honestly, you may have just damaged the shock, or frame at the wrose. If you don't know what to look for, take it into a repare shop, have them look at it, some one you can trust of corse. They'll see whats wrong.

Good luck.
