Re: motor mounts

depending on what mounts, quite possiable

the prothane inserts will set you back $25 for the set and about $100 for install. our shop, in san jose, charged $98/hr to install...and it takes an hour to install the pair. prothane tranny mount doesnt fit, so dont bother with it

Re: motor mounts

i would need a lift or a something to lift the engine up to be able to do it and im not able to do that.... the shop said it would take like 15 minutes to do the one but almost 2 hours to do the second one because there is alot of stuff to remove and then they have to lift the engine... does that make sence?

Re: motor mounts

I did both(passenger upper and lower) mounts in my garage, by myself, in about 35-45mins. All you need is two jacks, those jacks that come with cars would even work. You just remove the upper mount, jack up the car, barely(1cm or so) jack up the mount that holds the lower motor mount, unscrew the bolt and slide in the urethane mount, blah blah blah. Retighten bolt, lower down mount that holds lower mm, then lower down car. Insert urethane thing into top mount and reinstall top mount. Here is a more detailed explanation:
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193721

If it took me 35-45 minuets, it shouldn't take a shop with a lift more than 30. Unless it's a Honda shop(ha ha hahaha ha etc etc haha etc)

Re: motor mounts

please dont ever go to that shop again. they are thiefs and have no buisness working on cars. for the motor mounts, nothing has to be taken off, other than the mounts themselves...oh and hardware that holds the mounts on. the tranny mount is a little bit different because the battery has to come out. please stay away from them and do it in your driveway like i did. just use a jack and a piece of plywood (so when you lift the motor, you dont dent the oilpan). its that easy. as long as you do one mount at a time, you dont need to lift the motor at all. the other mounts (total of 3 motor mounts, and 1 tranny support mount) will hold the engine in place
