Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

The guy I bought my car from said that the PCM and block was from a 95 but the port looks like it's from an earlier model OBD1 and the cable I just bought for the '95 from moates.net does not fit. The previous owner told me that he made his own cable and I'm wondering if he hooked up an older style diagnostic port to make it easier on himself. I just really need to see what a '95 LT1 port looks like so that I can try to figure out what's what.

I just got the cable tonight and I haven't had a chance to look at the PCM but if it's a '95 should it have the 8051 code on it somewhere?

the 95 port looks like an obd2 port but if you look inside of it it actually only has a few prongs

Re: Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

Well, it looks like I have the right cable for a 95 but the wrong PCM or connector. What would be the best way to tell what year the PCM is from?

Re: Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

You probably have a 94 OBD1 Hybrid system but the diagram below will tell you if thats the case but the PCM itself for a 94 and a 95 is exactly the same. The engine itself has a couple differences between a 94 and a 95 though.

Re: Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

Great info guys, thanks a lot. It is a 12 pin connector and going by the picture above only the B, A, and M terminals have pins in them so it seems like maybe it was a custom job. Any idea how I could figure out what's going on?

EDIT: The only reason I'm a little confused is because my car in an auto with a 4l60e, so shouldn't it have the TCC terminal populated?

Everything wiring wise for a 94 and 95 is exactly the same. The terminal are just different but the same exact tranny was used in 94 and 95, They were both 4L60-E's. Do you have wires on the end of your cable or the adapter for a OBD2 terminal?

Re: Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

What you need to do is take two paper clips or jumper wires and have terminal 5 on the cable end go to terminal A on the datalink terminal and have the the other wire or clip go from terminal 9 on the cable end to terminal M on the datalink end. Then it should read and flash correctly.

You want to test the connection with a scan first though using free scanning software beforing you start the flashing and reading programs.

Re: Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

Alright it looks like the cable and paper clips are working, but I'm having a hard time finding a good scan tool. Any suggestions?

Re: Need pic of '95 OBD1 port

That would be awesome if you could send it to [email protected]. What flashing software would you recommend, I've heard really good things about Tunercat.
