Incident I had.
Just wanted to share the horrible experience I had of what could had been a major accident.
On sunday I was hanging with my friends etc and we were just running out etc. Doing stupids things. On one curve, we were doing around 80-90 MPH and I tried to pass him, however, it was a single lane street and he gave me no space whatsover, before hitting him at those speeds and saying bye-bye to the cars, I just threw myself to the left where there was a lot of weeds. At those speeds, I lost control of the car and there were some bricks left behind some construction site and I didnt want to hit them so I threw myself back into the street but still out of control and high speed, I got myself to the right side of the road in which there was a fence and then I just made a really sharp left movement to the steering wheel and my car just started spinning around in circles. I think it made like 2-3 circles, there was black smoke coming from the behind wheels and all. This all happened so fast. All I said looked like a sec. After everything was calm, I just stayed there, kind of like a shock. Imagining that I could had killed myself or wrecked my new car. I promised to not run again, its been 2 days, lets see how long that lasts ![]() Just wanted to share this. Does anyone have any dumb experiences like this? |

Re: Incident I had.
1. Glad your car is ok.
2. Glad you're ok. 3. I hoped you learned your lesson and don't drive dumb and reckless again. Next time, you might not be so lucky. So keep it on the track. I've done some dumb things, but not that bad. Just racing a little on the street, never reached over 100mph and never in traffic. But its still stupid and illegal. |

Re: Incident I had.
That sucks man. Are you going to get a lawyer and try and get it knocked down? Not sure that works though for something that high up.

lol, dude 100mph? fuck if we get caught doing that in hawaii its straight license suspension + reckless driving + court.
anything over 85 (even on the freeway, wtf?) here is 'reckless' and straight to court.

Re: Incident I had.
Glad you're okay dude.
Ive done plenty of dumb stuff in my 3 years of driving.. and man.. i'll tell you something, any little rush you get out of that wont be worth it when you dont have your baby to drive around in.. So try to be a bit smart next time.. only go fast in the straight.

Re: Incident I had.
When I first got my liscence my friends and I did tons of dumb stuff with that said I also learned alot on how to control the car and what not to do when you lose control and I am glad two last winter My wife and I were heading to school I was driving my Eclipse GSX (daily at the time) and I was doing 55 on a road with a couple inches of snow. The car in front of me was doing 20 or so so I switch lanes and pass. I go to go back and this is where the fun begins. I'm facing the mediun and still going in the same direction I was heading (car was still sliding sideways at 50-ish mph). So I chirp the e-brake a couple times to lock the back tires and put the front back where it belongs and it works too good. Now I'm facing the outside of the road still sliding sideways. I chirp the ebrake again front goes where it blongs and I tap the gas and I've righted the car. My wife said "Next time you feel like playing rally racer do it when I'm not in the car." To this day she thinks I did it all on purpose. Oh and the lady I was was in my class later that day.

Re: Incident I had.
You should thank you ever loving stars that no-one else was coming the other way. Passing someone on a curve??? You should be dead.
I am no angel, but what you did doesn't even qualify for stupid. Don't "see how long that lasts"... try: you were one in a million lucky and don't do it again. Speeding is one thing... racing on a track is another... and speed / drag racing and road racing on public roads, well... You should look at some of the threads here about how people, INNOCENT bystanders, get killed because of the kinds of things you did. You were lucky, wisen up and be more responsible. (Wait'll Dylan sees this one!) |

:pfft, screw that, kid you should be in a box right now. And wouldn't you know, right about now is when the dirt would start settling in your grave. And maybe, just maybe the "friends" that did survive might have gotten something in their thick heads as to when and where these type antics belong. You're doing this on a curved road and can only think of damaging the car? You don't even have the operational capability of realizing in a tight situation there's this horizontal pedal there, next to the vertical one that you obviously have no problemo finding. This pedal, unlike the other that makes the car go faster, makes the car go slower, imagine they'd put something like that in there ![]() You need to think long and harder about how damn lucky you really are and head the warning that life has given you, next time, there might not be a field there and even more, next time there just might be a innocent life or lives lost, to say nothing about your precious car could get damaged. Bottom line, next time should be on a track, they're out there, don't cost alot to use and hell, even get a couple professional instructions as to vehicle limitiation and recovery. And don't get me wrong, the story itself didn't get to me, it was the arrogance in stating "let's see how long it lasts". ![]() I hope it makes a lasting impression on you, and those who read your story, for you certainly had one of the rare ones where everybody walks away. |

Well... I was thinking you would be a little more subtle considering my post, but I think you've conveyed your disapproval quite effectively.

Re: Incident I had.
Don't mean to sound like a preacher, but it turns my stomache upside down when somebody trots along with one of these type deals where "I was sitting at light and we pulled hard, got it up to 100"
& ![]() Heck, if you have to brag about it that bad, there is the completely off topic area of AF for it. i mean, Jim, as you said, you're no angel, nor is anyone else with a performance based car. But, I don't know about you but, the only thing I have everdone that can't even be concidered reckless was a half block burnout, but it was controlled on a closed street, 30 ft wide going one way with a divder and noone but the firemen from the firehouse down the block (who were the ones to root it on in the first place). And sure, I'd drive a little fast here and there and let the car out a bit, but the real get on it stuff absolutely not, that's for the track. Furthermore and a point I was trying to make as subtle as possible with a elevated blood pressure, is knowing the limits of your car. Ever since I got behind a wheel, in my neighborhood there was an old abandond factory with a huge ass parking lot. And we as kids would go and learn exaclty how far can you go to a breaking point where the cars ass end comes around on you, how hard can you corner it, stopping efficiency. Hell, I even learned on my own 2 footed driving (left foot braking). The kicker to this was, I knew the vast majority of the law enforcement there by way of my folks business. And 9 out of 10 times atleast one if not more of them were there, so it was kind of in way supervised (with pointers) and in a way applauded that we would have a 'performance' vehicle (which hell in the 80's, any car that had over 125hp was considered performance ) and learn it's ability, or make an enhancement to it and see exaclty what changed. This story was clearly a case of inexperience, in an enviorment where it does not belong and the outcome should have been alot worse and will be next time if nothing is learned from it. Over and out. |

2. ABSOLUTELY... I can't stand braggarts. 3. I AM no angel... However, my less careful moments usually are centered around me trying to drinking a flask of leroux's blackberry brandy while going up a ski-lift, dropping the cap, and killing the whole thing before getting to the top and trying to navigate the four or five imaginary trails I'm trying to ski-down, or some alcohol related mishap not-involving cars or firearms , or sticking something someplace someone else don't want it to be ... I get a beer muscle alright... HAHAHAHAAA!!!!!4. Dude, blood-pressure sucks. 5. Skin of his teeth lucky... ought not to be making light of it. 6. OUT, but not over... off to do an audit on a local municipality. Check with you later. |
