93 grand 5.2 starter problems

hey everyone
I have a 93 5.2 that I have had for 7 years now and this morning when I tried to start nothing exept solenoid so I bought and replaced it and in the process the neg battery cable came loose and re-connected the battery and a few sparks so I went ahead and finished and same thing so I went and had it checked they said it was fine so I replaced the stater relay and ignition fuse that I blew and still nothing except solenoid works it wont engage the bendix any ideas
thanks rob

Try to remove the starter from the jeep (without disconnecting the wires) and try to start the jeep does the bedix kick out and spin now?

Try sticking a socket and ratchet on the crank pulley bolt and turn the engine clockwise. Does the engine spin? If so it is either a week starter, prolly doesn't have enough power to spin the engine at that point (point where it is at it's highest compression, prolly 3 or more cylinders on a compression stroke).
