hei ignition questions

i have 350 lt1, i'm wandering just what benefits i can gain by changing ignition curve?
if i consistantly between 4500 and 5500 rpm where should my
total timing be?
where should i want it all in at?
vacuum ported,manifold or dead?
slow or quick curve?
i really just need a better working knowledge of the whole deal

Re: hei ignition questions

first i need to say you need to search more for this info.

Alright the stock timing is at 6* BTDC i think. some cars respond well to a increase in timing while some do better with less ,it all depends on the engine. Your ecm whill retard timing if it sense knock.

The best way to know is to get your car dynoed.

i really dont know what the hell your asking because your post doesn't make sense.
