Water, water, everywhere....well only in the rear :)
I'd like to dig up an old topic for a second. I was wondering if there were any new thoughts on the water in the rear floorboards of first gen. luminas? We just got a lot of rain in Southern Illinois and I had a nice surprise when I lifted up my rear floor mats. My in-car swimming pool is open for business!!!! As usual, the water is only on the driver's side in the rear. I did what I've been doing all along: Throw an Absorber in there to soak up the water. Anyone have any new breakthrough's on the topic?

Re: Water, water, everywhere....well only in the rear :)
If I get in the car soon after the rain, I can tell from the wet carpet, where it is coming from. There is a small "stream" of water that comes from the bottom of the door, down into the floor (I'll post a pic to describe this better). I'm wondering if it could be the weatherstrips.

Look for blocked drains in the bottom of the door shell , or the paper/plastic water deflector in the door is missing or loose, behind the trim pad.

. I have another issue with water in the vehicle, but maybe I should do them one at a time.

![]() The part I'm referring to is the plastic that is just above the "arrow tail" in my picture. I assume I have to remove it to get the carpet up.

Again, torpedo clips, just pull on the trim cover an they pop out.
