Budget Performance Mods

OKay it's official, I'm stuck with the 240 because I couldn't find a new car. So while i still have it, I'm ready for some entry-level performance mods. What are some low cost mods I could get and how much do they cost? What will give me the most bang for my buck? All I can think of are filters...oh yeah, along with those mods, how much of a gain of horsepower and torque?

Well how much does a good turbo setup cost, or a starter one?

Re: Budget Performance Mods

yea id say go turbo too.. its your best bet. some of the things hit_n_run player listed are good things to do to prep for a turbo too. heres a few good links to get you started, the top is building a KA24DE and the bottom is turbo DOHC for dummies. both are good starter guides. good luck on your build bro

Re: Budget Performance Mods

I've gotta pay...sorry...invest 3 grand into my car? Umm, let's start smaller than a turbo. What else can I do?

For now I'll read the guides. I like reading because it's usually free.

Re: Budget Performance Mods

So far I have in mind, cold air intake, chipped ecu, and eliminating the speed governor. I don't know if cutting the rev limiter off is such a good idea though. That's what...the one thing that prevents the engine from kabooming.

This isn't engine bay related but If I ever get the chance, I'm getting LSD. 2 wheels are so much better than one. The Camaro taught me that. I don't think I'll be able to get under my car for a while.

I'll have to research about LSD before I decide on it. Question about the turbocharging, how much power are we looking at with a 3k setup so I have a reference?

Re: Budget Performance Mods

a basic turbo setup will be like 250whp, chipped ECU is useless if you dont go turbo and if you just paid for 14 hours of labor for the timing chain, maybe th ebext thing isnt wasting money on air filters and coffe cans.
