93 idiling wierd

My 93 3.8 bird is idiling a little wierd sometime when i start the car it will jump to a little over one and be fine stay at that rmp and idle, sometimes it will jump to 2.3 when starting then drop to about 1 and be fine and other times it will start at about 1 and then the rpm's will jump all the way down and shake the car almost dieing(sometimes does) and go back up to 1 back and forth for about 10 seconds and then be fine. Also sometimes it will crank for 3 seconds and start sometimes and soon as i turn the key to crank it starts almost instantly. I am absolutely stumped dont know where to start at all!!!

Start with the idle control valve, give it a good cleaning.
