help, electronical problems

Okay, remembering when I said I ran over my dash, lol...yeah well I did and like since I don't have a dimmer control anymore, that means that I do not have lights for my needles and hvac knobs... The harness going into the dimmer switch had like 4 wires I think... I plan on rigging up som switches in that spot for other things, and I believe I will have a switch for the interior lights to do that function too...does anybody know the purpose of each wire there. Orginally I thought it was just 2 powers and 2 grounds and the dimmer switch controlled the illumination, but then I realized that if you flick the dimmer all the way up you get interior lights too...so that threw that idea out the window...I'm stumped...any ideas anyone?

no I'm not getting a new dimmer switch, lol.

Re: help, electronical problems

yeah I don't ever use it, lol. Plus I need that spot for my switches. I'll figure it out by myself I guess geez, lol. What about Power Windows/Locks, Keyless entry and an Alarm system. You guys wanna help me with that, or should I just pay a professional, lol. You know professionals are just people like us, the only difference is they've done it like 50x more, so they can just do it quicker, lol.

Well what about power window/locks and alarms and keyless entry?? Are you asking how to hook them up and everything?? never did a conversion from manual windows to power so I cant help you out there. keyless entry I'm pretty sure is just a matter of programming it in, and alarm I have hooked up a few and if you have never done it before I would suggest having someone do it for you.

Re: help, electronical problems

I think I'll do the windows myself, doesn't look too hard and the box says "quick and easy installation"...it better not lie, lol. Yeah I'll do that tomorrow after work then hopefully trim them into my door, and wrap my fabric onto my doors and have them back on by friday morning...but you know me...it probably won't get done until like monday, lol.

No such thing as a Quick and easy installation when it comes to cars.

I beg to differ about that. Some stuff is very easy to intall on cars. but when it comes to the techinal shit that can get a little complicated.
