types of turbos

i have a 91 talon tsi and i took it to the mechanic i had a few engine problems but he also said i wasnt getting enough boost so i was going to get a new turbo i was wondering what a good turbo to get would be i do alot of highway driving and dont take it to the track so im loooking forone that can get me some more power and what kind ofwork i willl need to do or parts ill need to add thanks for the help

Your 14b is all you need. Just replace it if it's blown (you can get them used cheap). If your really think you need a bigger turbo get a 16g. But seriously you don't need it.

There would be other symptoms of a bad turbo not "not enought boost" get a boost gauge and mbc and cheack for yourself

I don't think you need a new turbo, I think you need a new mechanic. Like PR said, there's never a symptom of "not enough boost" and just slapping on a new turbo, that won't help.

a 16g is a direct swap on the one g's your looking at about 550$. Definitely do a boost leak test, check for shaft play on your turbo, turn up your boost with an mbc, it could be alot of things but Im sure of that for your needs your 14b is plenty.
