Woohoo!!! Gonna become an SLR McLaren tech!!!!

So this afternoon I got some good news. My shop foreman pulled me aside and told me that we were getting way too many SLR's in for service for our one SLR tech to handle. He said he was looking for another tech that fit the criteria. That is: works with patience and has good work quality but also have a passion for cars. He also needed somebody humble enough to take orders from our lead SLR tech and not bitch about it. He said I was the first one that popped in his head.

He asked me if I would take the position and of course I said yes. Granted I'm only the "back-up" SLR technician when things get busy or the lead guy needs a helping hand but I'm extremely happy about it. At 24 years old I might the youngest in the country!!! My foreman also said he is trying to get me into SLR training for a week at the Mercedes training center. An entire week in a relaxed atmosphere learning and working on the SLR!!!!

Perhaps I can be the official road test guy......

Yep. I have a pretty good relation with the foreman. He and I have very similar personalities. Probably another reason I was asked.

wow, i wish i could work on them. hopefully i'll be designing something like that with my mechanical engineering degree..... probably not, i'll probably end up doing the suspension on a chevy cavalier

That's nice and all, but what we really need is a Rover 45 technician. Jays beige 45 1.4 has a rattle around the parcel tray and it's disturbing the box of tissues on it.

Congrats. My friend sees a lot VW Pheatons going out to Connetticut and New Jersey because there are only 5 or 6 techs here on the Island, and others in the state are too busy to take them.

That might make sense if I knew what a 45 1.4 was.

Well, ever since Volvo became a bit too racey and funky, he needed to find something new, he found that the Rover 45 was a nice little car for popping down to the shops into.

John, there are many mods who would tell you never to ask me to hook you up, apparently anybody who asks me that always ends up in a nice restaurant with Moppie...
