Re: mpfi swap problem

i currently do not have spark. i replaced the cap and rotor befor i did the swap its weird i know i m getting fuel on all injectors and when i turn the car off from the run position to take the key out i get a large pop or explosion from within the motor so that why i would like to know the wiring all the wires matched up besides the 2 i ran to the dizzy but there are two of the same colored wire and when you alternate them you get an explsion on one setup then you switch them and get nothing im so confused and i am really sick of wiring now and would like to go for a drive

Re: mpfi swap problem

Do you get any codes (flashes) on the ECU?

Did you add the 2 extra wires to the Dizzy? I assume you are using a SI Dizzy which is highly recommended.

On the SI, there are two white wires running to the dizzy, don't mix those two up.

When I did my swap didn't get a spark until I replaced the ignition coil in the dizzy (looks like black plastic piece on top inside the dizzy, it is the same part as in a DPFI dizzy).
