2000 Suzuki Vitara 4 cly 2.0L - Chronic Electrical Problems

Hello Friends!

My Girlfriend's 2000 Vitara 2.0L has had numerous and frequent engine electrical problems. Starting in August of last year she had to have the alternator replaced followed soon after by the wiring harness. Within the last 6 to 8 weeks (well less than a year) we've been having issues again with the battery, the alternator, and now we are having problems with the new replacement alternator. It did manage a cross country road trip back in feburary (California to Florida) just fine.

Anyone, else having the same problem or know what the root cause of the problem could be?

I bought my daughter's 2000 Vitara JLS (2.0L) a little over a year ago and have had no electrical problems at all. The only problem I've had is a chronic squealing belt, which we now think is the belt tensioner.
