Exclamation How big do I go?

I have a 2001 Chevy blazer LT4x4. I need new tires and am currently looking at some all terrains. I want to get the biggest size that will fit without rubbing or hurting my gas milage. I know I can fit 235 75 r15. I do not have any kind of lift, it is all stock. Right now I am looking at The BFG all Terrains. any ideas or suggestions? thanks

Re: How big do I go?

Any bigger and you will be decreasing your economy.

There is no size range which has the same economy. You increase the size, you add rolling resistance and hence, reduce economy.

Re: How big do I go?

265/70 is a little bigger than 235/75, and fill the wheel wells nicely. I've ran both. I'm currently using 235/75, because I got the set for $100 cheaper than a set of 265/70, and they're only 3/4" shorter. I get the same fuel economy with both.

Question Re: How big do I go?

I would still like to know what sort of MPG to expect running 30x9.5x15 or 235/75/15.....your'e only looking at a 5-8% difference in circumference and depending on size increase, assuming that the speedo is not re-calibrated - add 5-8% to the miles to calc MPG.

You multiply your mileage on your odometer by 1.039 = miles with the new tires.
